Thomas Paul Magazine Holder

Wow, these are a way prettier way to organize your periodicals than my usual stack- the- magazines- on- any- available- surface method. These magazine holders, which come in four dainty Thomas Paul patterns, make your collection of gossip rags look super chic.

$16.00 each, Velocity Art and Design

Printed Glass Birdie Hook

I can't quite figure out how you screw these glass bird hooks to the wall, but I really like them. The funky patterns are awesome. These would look great in an entryway. You could use them to hold your jacket or keep track of your keys, which always seem to be wandering off.

$14.00 each, Urban Outfitters

Fossil Weekender Cosmetic Bag

I like this little makeup bag. It has a fun, retro flower pattern. And it's sort of small--nine inches by four inches. So you can toss in a couple of essentials (lipgloss, some mascara, a little eyeshadow, a compact, and concealer) and fit it into almost any purse.

$16.00, Dillards

Hula Bud Vase

These little 3.5-inch-tall vases, which come in yellow or green, are so cute. Though you can't put long-stemmed roses in them, they'd look very cheery with a handful of daisies. They're a nice compact size for a desk or bathroom sink.

Marimekko Unikko Mini Flat Manual Umbrella

I kept buying these $5 umbrellas from vendors on the street, and they kept falling apart after one or two storms. I recently ponied up for one of these Marimekko mini umbrellas, which I really like. It has a fun poppy pattern, and it folds up super tiny--about six inches long. It's so small that I can keep it in my bag all the time. Plus, it comes with a really nice carrying sleeve.

Nintendo Mushroom Sours Three Pack

Here are some more Super Mario-inspired goodies: little mushrooms from the game stuffed with sour candies. In the game, the green mushroom gives you an extra life, the red mushroom makes you bigger, and the blue mushroom... wait, there was a blue mushroom? I have no idea what the blue mushroom does, but anyway, there's candy inside. So, all good.

$11.99, Perpetual Kid

Super Mario Singing Glow Star

Let everyone know you are untouchable with this awesome toy. It's the invincibility star from Super Mario Brothers, and when you press a button on the back, it plays that sweet, sweet melody as a light inside flashes. When you have it in your hands, you can kick people in the shins, and they can't do anything back! Hopefully they'll buy that explanation.

$17.99, ThinkGeek

Dead Tired Sleep Mask

This satin eye mask is cute and funny with its dead cartoon character eyes. I'm hoping that the fact that it looks a little bit creepy will prevent people from bugging you during your nap (for instance, say, the passenger next you in the airplane who seems to wait until you finally drift off to decide he needs to go to the bathroom).

$12.00, Gama-Go

Orla Kiely Pear Notebook

Writing things down on paper? How very analog. But these eight-inch tall notebooks by Orla Kiely are adorable. I like the graphic look of the blue pears with the bright red strap. Whether your using them to jot down your grocery list or your innermost thoughts, these notebooks are a pretty addition to your desk.

$15.00, See Jane Work

Jade Polished Shell

I was reading a piece in this month's issue of Domino about how objects inspired by nature (think coral and tortoise shells) make great decorations. I agree. I think these blue shells would add a punch of color to a bookshelf or side table. Each shell is about four inches wide.

No Slip Bath Art

If you have a fear of slipping in the bathtub like I do (hey, I don't want to die naked with shampoo in my eyes, okay?), these things will give you some peace of mind. They keep the tub from getting slippery. And you can pretend you're taking a bath in a goldfish pond.

$12.00, Urban Outfitters

Bamboo Candle

I like the natural look of this citrusy candle. It's made of lemongrass and chunks of bamboo. The five-inch-tall candle can burn for 70 hours, but even unlit it makes a nice decoration for the bathroom or a coffee table.

$14.95, Crate & Barrel

Atomic Food Containers

At my office, we get periodic all-company e-mails imploring that the person who swiped someone's baby carrots or whatever return these items to the company fridge immediately. If your coworkers or roommates have sticky fingers when it comes to your grub, try storing it in these things. Labels like "Nuclear Waste: Eat and Glow" might make them think twice.

$12.00 for a set of three, Urban Outfitters

Givenchy Pop Gloss Crystal Lip Gloss

I saw someone wearing this the other day, and I couldn't help but ask where she got it. This sparkly sheer gloss gives your lips a gorgeous shimmer. And I love the pretty peaches and pinks. It comes in more than 15 shades.

$23.50, Sephora

Stainless Steel Snack Bowls

I like how these stainless steel bowls sit slightly askew to offer you easier access to your snacks. They come in two sizes: 7 inches in diameter and 4.5 inches in diameter. The larger one's big enough for a modest offering of pretzels and chips. And the little one is the perfect size for dip.
