Fossil Weekender Cosmetic Bag

I like this little makeup bag. It has a fun, retro flower pattern. And it's sort of small--nine inches by four inches. So you can toss in a couple of essentials (lipgloss, some mascara, a little eyeshadow, a compact, and concealer) and fit it into almost any purse.

Givenchy Pop Gloss Crystal Lip Gloss

I saw someone wearing this the other day, and I couldn't help but ask where she got it. This sparkly sheer gloss gives your lips a gorgeous shimmer. And I love the pretty peaches and pinks. It comes in more than 15 shades.

Gucci by Gucci Eau de Toilette

Perfume is a very personal thing. One gal's signature scent is another's stinkfest. That said, I really like this new fragrance from Gucci. It smells rich and feminine and womanly without getting too fruity or old-lady-ish. I could definitely see wearing it on a date.

Hope in a Jar

I kept hearing how great this stuff was from friends and magazines, but it took a man telling me he was obsessed with it to get me to plunk down so much moolah for a little jar of moisturizer. And yes, I admit, it is pretty awesome. It feels soothing and rich without being heavy or oily. It has a slight herbal chamomile scent that I could do without, though.

Korres Lip Butter

Your lips will thank you for this stuff. It feels great on, more like a moisturizer than a lip gloss, and it smells delicious. I'd recommend the rosy shades--Quince, Pomegranate, and Wild Rose--over Guava, which is a kind of white. Guava still smells and feels amazing, but it sort of looks like you put lotion on your lips.

Lippmann Collection Nefertiti Nail Lacquer

I got some of this as a gift, and wasn't expecting to like it, but it has this pretty champagne sheen that's actually surprisingly subtle. However, I think it looks best on shorter nails. The longer your nails, the more it starts getting into K-mart cashier/Vegas stripper territory.

Stila Smoky Eye Palette

What drew me to this smoky eye kit was the built-in audio instructions that tell you how to put it on. But now that I listen to them, turns out they are unbelievably useless. At least the eye colors are awesome--very rich and shimmery. I especially like the bronzes and the grays, but the emeralds (shown here) might be fun too.

Metallic Leather Purse Mirror

It's always risky to apply lipstick without a mirror, but I often worry about a mirror getting broken in my bag. But this pretty pocket mirror, which comes cushioned in soft silver or gold metallic goatskin, stays protected from the other contents in your purse. Plus, you can get it monogrammed for an extra five bucks.

Fresh Sugar Lemon Eau de Parfum

When I first smelled this lemony perfume, I thought it smelled more like cleaning products than a real fragrance, but once I wore it for a day, I was hooked. With hints of mandarin, lychee, orange blossom, and ginger, it just smells so clean and light. I kept wanting to put more and more of it on.

Urban Decay Urban Survival Set

It's easy to pop into your luggage for trips or keep in your handbag for when you need to quickly transform from work schlub into hot date.

Pout Shimmer Swirls Bronzer

Pout has announced that it is discontinuing its makeup line, but for a little while you can still buy select items here and there, like this beautifully packaged shimmer bronzer. Inside the bronze compact, are several concentric rings of sparkly bronzer, which brushes on for a soft, streak-free tan.

Bare Escentuals Classic Rock Collection

If you want extra sparkle for a holiday party or New Year's bash, this nine-piece collection has glimmer for every inch of your face. We're talking shimmery blush, shimmery eye shadows, shimmery mascara, shimmery lip plumper, and an all-over body shimmer. Plus, it all comes in a shimmery white clutch.

Metallic Cosmetic Bag

Your makeup bag is more than just a vessel you dump all of your eye shadows and powders into, especially if you lug it around with you at all times like I do. So why not add a little sparkle to your makeup regime? This bag also comes in gold.

Fresh Satin Liner

This pretty little kit comes with three metallic eye liners. Fresh calls the colors sienna, olive, and coal, but to me they look like darker versions of bronze, gold, and silver. These liners feel creamy and light, but go on like a powder. You could also use them as eye shadows when you want dramatic eyes.

Pomegranate Anise Eau de Parfum

I am in love with this fragrance. It's lightly floral and citrusy without smelling like a giant orange. Notes of grapefruit and pomegranate mingle with Chinese lily and anise. Like many of the fragrances in the Fresh line, it smells very clean.
