Illustrated Pocket Mirrors

I was never that into pocket mirrors until I came across the My Favorite Mirror website. They have little mirrors decked out with probably more than 100 different designs from 22 illustrators. The illustrations range from the cutesy (see “Noodlicious” by Meomi) to the kooky (see “Logs in Pants, Doing the Dance” by Saelee Oh). This one is “Four Eyed Franny” by Sew Darn Cute. It's fun just looking at them all.

$6.50 each, My Favorite Mirror

How do you like them apples? On pillows? Me too. They do kind of make me hungry, though. These cute cotton throw pillows are filled with down and feathers.

Check out these pretty pens and matching business card cases. They come in seven different patterns. It’s amazing how looking at these things give you the urge to network. “Here’s my card. These silicon cases are awesome, because you can customize the colors and the pattern that goes over the click wheel. It’s fun to design different combinations on the website. They make ‘em for the Nano, the Mini, and the iPod Video. $29.00, iFrogz

Handmade Kimono Clutch

Normally, I would say it was a shame to snip up a perfectly gorgeous kimono, but these handbags are an exception. Each unique clutch is made of a vintage kimono and satin ribbons. $68.00, Nappa Studio

Lilith Onyx Necklace

I still haven’t seen Marie Antoinette yet, but it sure is inspiring a lot of pretty jewelry. This is one of my favorites. It has two brass strands: one with black glass beads and another with an intricate black glass pendant. $88.95, Wrapables.com

See & Store Container Stand

These five small containers are magnetic and have transparent lids. This is a cool way to organize those little things you need at your desk. You know...paper clips, thumbtacks, rubber bands, hair clips, and Altoids.

Velvet Betsey Johnson Dress

I generally avoid velvet, but I am enamored with this Betsey Johnson dress. It’s made of navy velvet and embroidered with flowers along the skirt and the capped sleeves. And it kind of reminds me of Hansel and Gretel. (Well, maybe not so much Hansel.) $350.00, BetseyJohnson.com

Maharam Memory Game

Here’s a fancy twist on those memorization games for children. Players match cards with 36 different classic patterns—created by big name designers such as Charles and Ray Eames and Alexander Girard— from Maharam, the textile maker.

Dove Salt and Pepper Shakers

These shakers, made of nickel-plated zinc and rubber, are so cute that it’s easy to forget what might happen if I shook a real bird over my plate. What’s hard, though, is fighting the urge to toss them some breadcrumbs.

$28.00, Chiasso

Fairy Dust Champagne Clutch

Loop NYC makes some really cute bags. I have been coveting this one for a while. It’s got these cool faux-leather leaves that are stitched around the bag and that dangle down the side. The narrow silver shoulder strap matches the trim around the top.

$56.95, Zappos.com

Cane Sugar Hearts

One heart or two? Made of three different flavors of sugar, these ingenious hearts have a little notch to hook onto the edge of a teacup or coffee cup. Fancy! No one can claim that you don’t care.

Picasso Morph Notepad

I like little notepads and Post-its, and I’m especially fond of this one. You can twist it here and there to distort the face. At the very least, it’s a handy outlet for your aggression while you're on hold with customer service.

$21.00, Crane & Co.

Carved Lucite Flower Rings

I just bought one of these pretty flower rings carved out of Lucite. Availability is a bit limited, so I will have to fantasize about having a rose and zinnia in every color.
